8 Gallon Stainless Steel Kettle with Tri-Clad Bottom & Weldled Ports for Valve & Thermometer

This is an 8 gallon 304 stainless steel kettle with welded ports for the thermometer and ball valve.  Both the thermometer and the ball valve come with this item and are both stainless steel.  The thermometer has  2" probe.  The 2" probe is perferred in the kettle over a 6" probe so as not to be damaged when stiring the kettle with your stainless steel spoon.

THIS KETTLE IS INDUCTION READY if your cook top requires a magnet to heat up!

The face of the thermometer is 3", reads from 0 - 220 degrees F or -10 to 100 degrees C.  The thermometer is easily calibrated using a set screw on the back of the dial.  To calibrate, boil some water and set the thermometer to 212 degrees F or 100 degrees C.  The thermometer screws into a 1/2 in. welded port on the kettle.  A welded port eliminates any risk of leaks caused by damaged silicone orings.

The ball valve is a 1/2" stainless valve with a 1/2" barbed outlet.  Similiar to thermometer, the ball valve screws into a 1/2 in. welded port.

The kettle has a tri clad bottom that will spread the heat of a direct flame from your burner across the bottom and minimize any chances of scorching.  Kettles that only have a single layer bottom will likely cause scorching during the boil and will change the flavor of the finished beer.  Scorched wort is not as fermentable and leaves a finished beer with a higher gravity and less alcohol.

The kettle handles are rivited into place and sturdy.  The lid has nice large handle as well.  This kettle is built to last through years of use in your brew house.

Optional Equipment:

False Bottom - The false bottom fits the kettle to its specific diameter and stands up off the bottom above the ball valve but below the thermometer.  The false bottom has a large surface area and is effective when used during the boil to help separate the hops, both pellet and leaf, from passing into the ball valve.  Alternatively, the false bottom can be used in the kettle so that the kettle becomes a mash tun.  The false bottom has three legs across the under side and one handle on the top.

Sight Glass - We can install a weldless sight glass in the kettle.  The sight glass is made of stainless steel and allows you to calibrate the kettle to your liking so that you can accurately collect and boil the volume of wort you intend on making.

8 Gallon SS Kettle with welded ports

Posted by Tom Tree on 27th Mar 2021

I couldn't be more pleased with this kettle. It arrived in perfect condition with an outer box and inner box and lots of padding.
I am brewing Kombucha and the thermometer makes it especially fun. I am very pleased with the 1/4 turn ball valve with a lock -- makes the possibility of accidental spills remote except cause by pilot error.
Probably larger than I need, but it's fun to give Kombucha and Scobies away to friends and introduce them to brewing their own.
5 stars. -- would definitely buy again.

    Nice kettle

Posted by Matt on 14th Dec 2018

I bought three of these for my brewing system. All arrived in perfect condition. The quality is very good for the price. The extra-thick bottom helps protect my mash from scorching when heated directly. My only minor issue is that the handles have exposed rivets on the inside of the pot which require extra attention in cleaning.

No beer here, just a new type of BBQ sauce. This is perfect for mixing and then filling my containers for market.

    Very nice kettle

This kettle is very nice. The welded ports are a great and don't leak at all after using thread tape. The triclad bottom prevents any scorching. A few things to keep in mind though are it is a very heavy kettle (17lbs), there's about 3/4 of a gallon of dead space below the outlet port, and the thermometer is very low and not angled (if you're only using that thermometer to monitor temperature you'll be bending down a lot to check the temp). Those are just a few complaints though. The price for this quality of brew kettle is insanely low.

    Great value, fully functional

Posted by brewminaries on 19th Aug 2015

I have been homebrewing for 4 years and finally took the plunge into buying a large pot after using 2 smaller pots for some time. This product is as described and works great. I was dismayed that I had to assemble it, and there was a brass nipple missing that required a trip to the hardware store (aka my least favorite place on earth) to get. I wish it had come with all necessary pieces, if not fully assembled already. The pot itself is quite heavy (I think 17lb?), so you'll want to factor that into your brewing day - I am a small woman with a hard time lifting 5 gallons of boiling hot liquid - nevermind then adding the 17lb weight of a large pot.

All in all, I am pleased to have this pot and with the overall quality.

    The BEST deal anywhere!

Posted by Bob IPA on 11th Aug 2015

I am completely satisfied with this brew pot. It has two welded ports and comes with a thermometer and ball valve! It is triclad and very heavy. There isn't another pot on the market that comes close to this value. The ONLY drawback is the dimensions (14"w X 12"h), but that is still ok. Get it.... you won;t be disappointed.
